India occupies only 2.4% of the world's land area but supports over 15% of the world's population. We can say that every sixth person in this world in an Indian. Around 40% of Indians are younger than 15 years of age. About 70% of the people live in rural Indian in more than 550,000 villages, and the remainder in more than 200 towns and cities.

The Indian person varies like its vast geography. They speak in different languages, dress differently, follow different religions, eat different food but all are 100% Indian from the core of their heart. So either it is an occasion of a joy or a moment of grief, people participate whole-heartedly, feeling the happiness or pain. An Indian festival or a celebration is never constrained to a family or a home. The whole community or neighborhood is involved in bringing liveliness to an occasion. Likewise, an Indian wedding is a celebration of union, not only of the bride and groom, but also of two families, maybe cultures or religion too! Similarly, in times of sorrow, neighbors and friends play an important part in easing out the grief.
